چکیده

Water pit thermal energy storage systems have been demonstrated in Denmark and proven effective increasing the solar fractions of district heating covering mismatch between heat demand production. This study analyzed five years measurement data for two PTES Denmark, namely Marstal Dronninglund. Their efficiency was assessed using energy, exergy, a seasonal indicator. The degree stratification investigated MIX number, coefficient, newly-introduced indicator, exergy destruction. Exergy destruction shown to be promising indicator assessing since it can used compare with different losses, providing quantitative evaluation amount mixing. In addition, found suitable estimating long-term combined short-term systems. Dronninglund had 92% 73% efficiency, while 63% 48% efficiency. All indicators showed that performed better overall than one Marstal. • Investigation performance evaluated stratification. Seasonal comparing storages operations. worse terms

Comparison of energy performance and economics of chilled water thermal storage and conventional air-conditioning systems

During the summer of previous years, Kuwait faced a series of power shortages emphasizing the need for urgent commissioning of power generation projects. It is estimated that the demand for electricity is growing at an average of 5.4% per year, encouraged by government subsidies and driven by the rapid and continual expansion in building construction, urban development, and heavy reliance on ai...

Using Dynamic Thermal Rating and Energy Storage Systems Technologies Simultaneously for Optimal Integration and Utilization of Renewable Energy Sources

Nowadays, optimal integration and utilization of renewable energy sources (RES) are of the most challenging issues in power systems. The wind and solar generation units' maximum production may or may not occur at peak consumption times resulting in non-optimal utilization of these resources. As a solution to this problem, energy storage systems (ESS) are embedded in networks. However, the power...

Comparison of Single-stage and Two-stage Tubular SOFC-GT Hybrid Cycles: Energy and Exergy Viewpoints

In this work, single-stage and two-stage tubular solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC)/gas turbine hybrid cycles are comparatively examined from the energy and exergy viewpoints. For this purpose, mass, energy and exergy balances are applied to all components of the cycles. The behavior of tubular solid oxide fuel cell modeled in this study is validated with the experimental test data of tubular SOFC de...

Energy Management of a Chilled Water Plant Using Thermal Storage

This paper illustrates a project implemented in a major IBM plant in Canada using a TES system integrated with other technologies to optimize the chilled water production. The implementation of the Novanergy system (thermal storage with phase change material) has given important peak load reductions as well as significant reduction in the energy consumption and in the environmental impact of th...

Cost and performance analysis of an integrated solar combined cycle with two tanks for indirect thermal energy storage

In this paper, the annual and economic performance of an integrated solar combined cycle (ISCC) with indirect energy storage tanks is investigated. The study includes four scenarios, in which the combined cycle performance was studied exclusively in the first scenario. In the second scenario, the integrated solar combined cycle (ISCC) was examined, and the use of supplementary firing instead of...
